    Green Tara
    Embodiment
One of the most popular meaning of Tara is she who saves, or saviour.  The Green Tara, especially in Tibet, represents
    compassionate, wisdom and swift activity.
    Genesis
Green Tara came into being when the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara wept upon seeing all of the endless suffering of
beings in the samsara, he felt tremendous discouragement that he could not complete his vow to liberate every single
being.   Therefore tears fell from his eyes and a pond grew out of his tears.  Out of this pond grew a blue lotus flower,
and in this flower appeared the beautiful Green Tara.  Her translucent green colour was luminous with great energy.
She held a deep blue lotus, symbolizing limitless generosity and protection.
    Manifestation
Tara is usually depicted with her right leg extended, ready to spring into action, while her
left leg is folded in the Buddhist contemplative position.  The right leg symbolizes
compassion and the left leg wisdom.  These are the two virtues that, when developed
    together, lead one to enlightenment.
    Heart Mantra
The heart mantra of Green Tara is OM TAREH TUTTAREH TUREH SOHA.  By reciting her mantra, she will swiftly protect
one from fearsome experience and suffering.
